Foundry Champion is one of the latest "Magic: The Gathering" cards spoiled today from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert expansion set "Gatecrash."

When Foundry Champion enters the battlefield, it deals damage to target creature or player equal to the number of creatures you control.
R: Foundry Champion gets +1/+0 until end of turn.
W: Foundry Champion gets +0/+1 until end of turn.

Revealed today in a post by Trick Jarret on Reddit.com, Foundry Champion is a powerful tool for Boros players to abuse.
In an aggressive deck that plays an early Champion of the Parish then grows it with Gather the Townsfolk and other token creature generators like Thraben Doomsayer, Foundry Champion can easily deal in excess of four damage when it enters the battlefield. Foundry Champion can deal even more damage if your Champion of the Parish met an untimely death from an Abrupt Decay if there was a Murder Investigation involved.
Increasing Devotion is a fantastic spell to cast the turn before playing Foundry Champion. If that isn't enough damage to kill your opponent then a Restoration Angel will seal the game in your favor, provided Firemane Avenger didn't deal the last few points of damage first.
There's absolutely no doubt that Foundry Champion will shine in limited, where it will give you card advantage by destroying a creature when it enters the battlefield and can switch between offensive and defensive roles. Your opponent better hope that you didn't open a Illusionist's Bracers too.
