Founders Day 2013 will take place tomorrow ,Saturday, October 12 at 124 West Elison Street in the Old Town district.
This year’s special feature is the Bumble Rumble Bike and the Bumble Rumble Car Show. The Bumble Rumble Bike show is scheduled first from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be grouped in sport, cruiser, rouring, vintage, classic, builder, trikes, rat, and ladies classifications.
The Rumble Bumble Car show will be on the scene from 2 p.m. to 6.p.m. The vehicles will be sorted into pre 1960, pre 1970, 1980, 1990, and 2000 divisions. They will be classified as T-Bucket/Roadster, Mopar/Dodge, Mustang, Corvette, Camaro/Firebird/Convertible, Import, Tri5, project/unfinished pre and post 1970, muscle, street rod, hot rod and rot rod.
Entertainment will be on two stages, the City stage will be located in the City Hall parking lot. The acts that will be performing include Ballet Folkloric de Fort Worth, Stribling Elementary School Choir, Devotion in Motion, Ballet Folklorico Azteca, Texas Tradition, Burleson Recreation Performers, Performers Unlimited, Artistic Motion Dance Academy and a Tae Kwon do demonstration, Studio C and Frances Lea Dance Academy. A second stage will provide entertainment and will be set up at the corner of Elison and Bransom.
There will also be staged gunfights, arts and crafts and of course plenty of food. The carnival will not be part of this year’s Founders Day.
The Burleson Heritage Foundation members will be walking the area in historical dress. Parked at the Burleson Heritage Center two of the Interurban finest rail cars, Rail Car #330 is the oldest in the fleet and Parlor Car #411 is one of the oldest wooden car will be open to visit. That area has recently been named Mayor Vera Calvin Plaza.
