Foster Parents; Child Protective Services ineffective?
In research, we find the most compelling articles, there are so many people coming out of the fog and speaking up on the subject of CPS. One cannot help wondering where they have been for thirteen years.
Here, is the one we discovered recently. Written by John Gever, Senior Editor, MedPage on Oct.4th.
Investigations by Child Protective Services (CPS) agencies following suspected episodes of child abuse were rarely followed by improvements in household risk factors for future abuse -- casting doubt on the agencies' effectiveness, researchers said.
Note that this study failed to show benefits of CPS investigations.
Note also that while the editorialist suggests that it is time the responsibilities of these programs be reallocated, he also feels that it is highly unlikely that any changes will be. Link.
Yet another professional stating “CPS has outlived its usefulness”. CPS is doing more harm than good making millions doing it. The article goes on to say, ”investigations should be handled by professionally trained investigators, police officers, this is what we have been saying all along.
We are in agreement. Possible solution; withdraw some of the millions funded to these ineffective, untrained, traumatizing individuals whose competence includes ripping children out of the homes of families for money to be collected. Is this not conflict of interest? Investigators should not be the same persons who rake in millions on the exact thing they are supposed to protect children from.

Janet Warren, DSW, of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, offered a more upbeat perspective on CPS. she said,
"CPS serves an essential front line of protection for the most vulnerable children in our society," then added “For their research, Campbell and colleagues used data from the prospective LONGSCAN study. One of the locations also recruited children without known risk factors for abuse who served as controls. A total of 1,249 children were included in the study.
- Interesting question for you, if research is conducted on five thousand persons involved in the study and forty five hundred have adverse reactions, or side effects to the substance that is being tested the report when it is released will no doubt say; of the five hundred tested only nine had adverse reactions. What percentage had reactions?
Now a quote from a research site; “Psychiatrists can’t predict what adverse side effects you might experience because not one of them knows how their drugs work. Psychotropic drugs are increasingly being exposed as chemical toxins with the power to kill. Psychiatrists claim their drugs save lives, but according to their own studies, psychotropic drugs can double the risk of suicide”. Link.
