The Fort Worth Stock Show Board of Directors gathered for their annual meeting that encompassed annual reports and addressed business matters pertaining to the 2014 Show. The meeting also allowed for the election of officers, eight new Directors and the elevation of seven honorary Vice Presidents.

All Directors and Officers were re-elected including Edward P. Bass, Chairman of the Board; Bradford S. Barnes, President and General Manager; Charlie Geren, Vice President; Charles B. Moncrief, Secretary; Randy Rodgers, Treasurer and W. R. “Bob” Watt Jr., President Emeritus.

The newly elected Directors include David Gallagher, Dave Appleton, Mark Lansford, Chris Harrison, Trent, Jay Ewing, Ted Ford and Rob Felton.

President and General Manager, Bradford Barnes summarized the highlights of the 2014 Show attributing the banner year to the hard work of partners, volunteers, fans, committee members, staff and the region’s mostly favorable weather, from January 17-Febraury 8.

Barnes noted the new features showcased in 2014 including the all-new Fort Worth Super Shootout, the Junior Agricultural Mechanics scholarship – Texas M.A.D.E., Cook Children’s Day and an original production of the specialty act during the PRCA rodeo performances just to name a few.

But there were other highlights of the 2014 Fort Worth Stock Show:

· Attendance surpasses the 1 million visitor mark for the third consecutive year – totaling 1,137,100 visitors

· Record 29,000 total Show entries – exhibitors represented 43 states

· 11,973 Junior exhibitor entries – that is up 4.5% for the 2013 Show and it included exhibitors form 236 of the 254 Texas counties

· Junior Sale of Champions sets a new record for total sales receipts of $3.3 million

· Total of $464,500 awarded through scholarships to 146 students

· Educational grants and contributions totaled $349,600
