The Friends of the Fort Worth Library are throwing a celebratory party to honor members of the Texas Literary Hall of Fame, both past and present. The party starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 19 and is being held at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden Conservatory-Oak Room.
Whether the Hall of Fame authors produce fiction or non-fiction, they are being honored for contributing to “Texas’ literary heritage.”
An author reception with wine and hors d’oeuvres opens the event, and will be followed by the presentation of awards to the new inductees; after the ceremony, attendees will hear from the authors (books can be bought at the event).
Authors being inducted into the Texas Literary Hall of Fame in 2012 are:

  • Leon Hale
  • Stephen Harrigan
  • Sarah Bird
  • Joe Lansdale
  • Carole Nelson Douglas
  • Jane Roberts Wood
  • Rosalyn Story
  • Robert Flynn

Congratulations to all the new Hall of Fame members, and keep up the good work!
Tickets are required to attend this event; contact the Friends of the Fort Worth Library at 817-346-2255 for more information and purchasing details. The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is located at 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd.
