A love triangle, jealousy, rivalry, and singing; this must be opera. Georges Bizet's The Pearl Fishers is a story of two
male friends who admittedly are in love with the same woman whom, by the way, is a virgin priestess. They have sworn her off and declared their deep friendship to one another until she shows up again in their lives. The resulting feud draws an entire town into a fiery finale while love rekindles and death is looming. While George Bizet is famous for composing Carmen, The Pearl Fishers has several noteworthy tunes, including the duet "Au fond du temple saint." The Pearl Fishers is presented in French with English and Spanish subtitles.
