Fort Wayne bus shooting: Suspect takes 3-year-old hostage

A man in Indiana snatched a woman off a city bus on Wednesday and shot her before running off.

This incidence happened about 8 a.m. That was around the time numerous children were leaving for school.

Krista Stockman, Fort Wayne Community Schools spokeswoman, told WANE-TV some of the children actually witnessed the shooting “on their way to school.”

This suspect is now holding a 3-year-old captive. According to authorities, the man is “barricaded in a home and holding a 3-year-old hostage.”

Investigators are not certain if this man is related to the child.

Citilink General Manager Kenneth Housden explained that police will be “reviewing video and audio equipment from the bus for their investigation.”
