Fort Smith sports bars televise Cotton Bowl (Video)

The new year has arrived, and it has turned the attention of many Fort Smith residents to one of the most important series of events that occur during the first week of the year: college bowl games. Yes the bowls are back with all of the intense rivalry that follows two colleges in their quest for the championship. While there are many bowl games that will be aired on ESPN, the one that has captured the interest of local residents is the Cotton Bowl. This year the Cotton Bowl will feature Texas A&M and the University of Oklahoma. The reason that this bowl is of great importance to many is that Fort Smith is situated right on the Arkansas/Oklahoma border, which means that there will be many OU fans hoping that their championship dreams come true. The best place to enjoy this bowl game is at one of Fort Smith's many sports bars. They serve food and drinks, plus there is always a large number of fans that people can enjoy the game with. Here are some of the area sports bars that will be broadcasting the Cotton Bowl.

Brannon's Pub and Grill.

Brannon's is the only sports bar in Fort Smith that is not located on a busy street. That means very little traffic, as well as parking aplenty. Those OU fans that are not looking to fight the busy traffic of Garrison Avenue can take advantage of this. Another incentive to watch the Cotton Bowl at Brannon's is that there will be food and drink specials that night. While Brannon's has not yet listed what food and drink items will be discounted, they are planning on offering something. So budget conscious fans may want to take advantage of the specials and save the extra money for that championship t-shirt.

Of course this sports bar also serves great sides like Cheesy Bread and Wings. Oh did somebody say beer? Yes, Virginia, there is beer at Papa's Pub and Pizzeria.
