The Fort Lowell Museum is hosting a Fort Lowell Encampment: Arizona’s Military Experience event on Saturday, January 26 and Sunday, January 27, 2013. This event allows visitors to the museum to learn more about Arizona's military history through experiencing special displays and demonstrations. The event also provides an opportunity to visit the museum for free, as well as visit on a Sunday, which is a day they usually are not open.
The Fort Lowell Encampment: Arizona’s Military Experience event will features displays about military history including weapons, uniforms, and other military equipment from the Civil War and Indian Wars eras. There will also be weapon demonstrations as well as medical displays and amputation demonstrations.
About Arizona Historical Society's Fort Lowell Museum: This museum is focuses on frontier military life and is housed in the reconstructed Commanding Officer's Quarters of Old Fort Lowell. Normal hours are Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Admission is usually $3 for adults, $2 for ages 60 and up and ages 12 to 18, and free for ages 11 and under as well as Arizona Historical Society Members.
