Fort Lauderdale, FL - The 60th Season at Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre is in full swing! The latest production of “Annie, Jr.,” in December played to standing ovations and sold-out audiences at Dillard Center for the Arts. Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre next show is a teen production of Shakespeare's classic, Hamlet, which will be performed in our new Black Box Theatre at the Galleria.
Hamlet plays first two weekends in March, 2012. Director, Sean Cutler, said "I am so excited about this production, it’s going to be an amazing show with an outstanding cast. Don’t miss it!" FLCT third quarter of Theatre Arts and Dance Classes with award winning teachers like SDC Director/Choreographer Ron Hutchins will start at the Galleria Mall soon so be sure to check those out. Classes are for ages 4-18 and include Jelly Beans for the the younger kids and dance for musical theatre, voice, improv and acting for the older kids, just to name a few. We will also have specialty workshops throughout the year. Details are on the FLCT website.
The rest of our season promises to be just as exciting with Peter Pan in May, 2012 (auditions open to kids ages 6-18 on March 6 & 7, 2012), and, to wrap up the season, Hairspray in July, 2012 (auditions open to kids and adults).
FLCT also offers “Date Night” for parents to drop off their kids at the FLCT Theatre while they go on a date! Date Nights will be February 10, 2012, March 16, 2012 and May 18, 2012. The cost is $50.00 for up to two siblings, $25.00 each additional sibling and $10.00 off if you bring a non-FLCT student. FLCT popular “Open Mic” nights will be resuming February 24, 2012, April 20, 2012 and May 25, 2012 so tell your kids to come show off their talents or just come watch their friends perform. And check out our fun “Spring Break Camp” from March 12-16, 2012 held at our Galleria FLCT Balck Box Theatre and Studio.
