According to an article published by NBC News on April 2, officials at the Fort Hood military base have confirmed an incident has taken place, and has asked that all personnel on post shelter in place.
NBC News reports that as many as eight people may have been injured in a possible shooting at the Fort Hood military base on Wednesday. Officials say that one person has reportedly been taken into custody, and law enforcement are reportedly searching for a possible second shooter.
There are few details being released about the extent of the injuries being seen, but a supervisor at Scott & White Memorial Hospital reportedly told NBC News the hospital was “setting up a command center.”
Fort Hood was the scene of the 2009 mass shooting where 13 people were killed and 30 others were injured; making it one of the most deadly attacks on a domestic military installation in history.
