Have you taken a good look at the craft beer aisle in your local HEB, Specs, Kroger, or other retailer? If you have, you are likely already aware of the efforts of beer distributors to find available shelf space for new products. The selection just continues to get better and better and one of Houston’s local breweries has extended its reach as well, with more selections offered at more places. I am talking about Houston’s own Fort Bend Brewing and through its partnership with Silver Eagle Distributors, Fort Bend beer products are showing up with greater frequency at area stores, restaurants, and taverns.
Change is All Around
Things have been changing at Fort Bend Brewing. More products, added personnel, and other signs of growth abound at the Missouri City based operation. Its bi- monthly tours are a hit with the public and as more consumers sample Fort Bend beer, the demand for the product at local retailers has increased. Silver Eagle has responded with a broader, more thorough distribution of Fort Bend products to more places and in greater quantities than before.
Retailers Jump on Board
Fort Bend beer can be found at multiple Houston area establishments, which now include HEB, Kroger, Randall’s, Fiesta, Specs, Sam’s Club, Whole Foods, Cost Plus World Market, Hubbell & Hudson, and other local stores. More restaurants and bars have been added and distribution now reaches Harris, Fort Bend, and Montgomery counties. Consumers are encouraged to request Fort Bend beer whenever they do not see it. The retailers will work to find a place for it on the shelves.
Fort Bend’s Expanding Lineup
Houston area craft beer fans should have no problem finding all four of Fort Bends core products: Texas Backyard Blonde, Texas Farmhouse Ale, Texas Lightning IPA, and Texas Thunder Stout. Not every store will offer all four, but an increasingly larger percentage of retailers are carrying everything.
In addition to the four core products, Fort Bend is releasing a new HarvestFest Ale, followed by Over Backwards and Grand Reserve 2013. This latter product is intended as an anniversary beer and is brewed in the tradition of an English barleywine. It will likely be packaged in bomber bottles.
The Question: Fort Bend Beer? The Answer: Yes!
With more retail stores, restaurants, and taverns selling Fort Bend Brewing products, it has never been easier to get the beer you want, when you want it. Check your local establishment when you can, and enjoy a six pack from this growing, thriving member of the Houston craft beer community.
