Formula one racer loves his dog

Lewis Hamilton, a 2008 Formula One champion, owns a bulldog named Roscoe. When Lewis attented a pre-season test in Barcelona recently, Roscoe was by his side. Reuters first reported this report on March 13.

Bernie Ecclestone, a Formula One VIP, was asked this past weekend for a paddock pass for Roscoe. Lewis not only asked but also sent Bernie a photo of Roscoe wearing headphones.

Ecclestone is granting the request and adding a pass for the grid as well as 'dog sitting' when needed.

Usually animals are not allowed at racetracks due to safety concerns. Sometimes stray dogs have caused undue issues in the racing world.

Chip Ganassi's Indy Car team has a bull terrier mascot named Bullseye that has made appearances at races including a news conference with Dario Franchitti when he won the Indy 500 in 2012.
