Mr. Diffey makes his Olympics debut with the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, commentating on other sports where people climb into machines and race against each other and the clock -- he will cover bobsled, luge, and skeleton.

According to the press release, Lewis Johnson, reporting for his eighth Olympic Games for NBC, will work alongside Diffey as a reporter in all three disciplines.

Serving as analysts will be: former U.S. National Bobsled Team member John Morgan (bobsled), his ninth consecutive Winter Olympics; three-time Olympic luger and World silver medalist Duncan Kennedy (luge); and Olympic silver medalist Lee Ann Parsley (skeleton).

According to the games' official website, the Sochi Olympics will run from February 7-23, 2014. The games will feature competitions in 15 disciplines of seven winter sports: biathlon; bobsled (bobsled and skeleton); curling; ice hockey; luge; skating (figure skating, short track speed skating, speed skating); and skiing (Alpine, cross country, Nordic combined, ski jumping, freestyle, and snowboard).

The FIA Formula 1 World Championship, according to Formula 1, will also make a stop in Sochi in the 2014 season with the first Russian Grand Prix in about a century scheduled for October 10-12.

Leigh Diffey is lead commentator for NBC's Formula 1 coverage, working with analysts David Hobbs and Steve Matchett and pit reporter, Will Buxton. Mr. Diffey replaced Bob Varsha when American television coverage of F1 moved from SPEED to NBC Sports in 2013. However, throughout that season, Mr. Varsha still occasionally stepped in to commentate on the sport for NBC.

The Formula 1 2014 season begins March 16 with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
