Former Xavier University head coach added to Dayton Dutch Lions FC Staff

In a press release today, the Dayton Dutch Lions announced that Jack Hermans, former men's head coach at Xavier University, has been added to the coaching staff.  Coach Hermans, currently the director of Ohio South Soccer Unlimited Camps and former professional player from Holland, brings an extensive coaching resume to the Dutch Lions.

He began coaching youth teams in Holland after his professional career was cut short by an injury.  Jack has been coaching in the US for 28 years and is currently the training director for several clubs in the Cincinnati area.  Jack is recognized as the winningest coach in XU men's soccer history where he accumulated a  record of 102-154-19 from 1990-2004.  Herman's best A-10 season came in 1997 when the Musketeers placed second with a record of 8-3.  Prior to the A-10, Xavier competed in the Midwestern Collegiate Conference where Jack was awarded the MCC coach of the year in 1992.  Prior to Xavier, Jack was named Coach-of-the-Year while coaching at Andersen High School in Cincinnati.  He has also been extensively involved in the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association Olympic Development Program and served as a former state coach for ODP.

Born in Breda, The Netherlands, Coach Hermans will bring a unique perspective to the team having coached players from both the United States and The Netherlands.  In 2007, Jack was inducted into the Ohio Soccer Hall of Fame.
