Former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis says it was a blessing she did not return to WWE

Maria Kanellis was supposed to return to the WWE in 2013 but something happened and she never made her return to the company. While Maria has, on many occasions, blamed the Bella Twins for blocking her return, Wrestle Zone reported on March 7 that Maria refers to not returning to the WWE a “blessing in disguise.”

Maria, instead of returning to the WWE, remained in Ring of Honor Wrestling, where she refers to herself as the “First Lady of Ring of Honor.” Unlike the WWE, where she played a dense backstage interviewer, in Ring of Honor she is a devious heel manager of superstar Michael Bennett.

Bennett also had a WWE try out last year and did not sign with them as well.

In a recent interview, Maria said that she was invited to return to the WWE last year but it fell through. She said that since that time she has actually apologized to the Bella Twins for lashing out at them and decided it was water under the bridge. However, she also said it was a blessing in disguise because she doesn’t want to be on the road for 300 days a year and enjoys going to school and being with her finance, Michael Bennett.

At the end of the day, Maria says she has no hard feelings whatsoever about not returning to the WWE.
