Former WWE Champion JBL took to Twitter to give congrats to his one time tag team partner, Ron Simmons with the news that he will be inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame on March 31st. Layfield is also excited to see his other tag partner, Barry Windham to get the nod as a member of the Four Horsemen.
“Thrilled that two of my great friends and former tag team partners are going into WWE HOF! Congrats to Barry Windham and Ron Simmons!!!”
JBL will have the honor of enducting Simmons into the Hall of Fame. The WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony will be held on March 31st at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL on the night before Wrestlemania 28. The 2012 class includes The Four Horsemen, Edge, Mil Mascaras, and a special "Celebrity Wing" induction with boxing great Mike Tyson.
JBL and Simmons wrestled together as the Acolytes, during the Attitude Era of WWE during the late 90's and early 2000's. After leaving the Undertaker's Ministry, the team transferred into a thugs-for-hire duo known as the Acolytes Protection Agency. They were successful winning the Tag Team Championships on three occassions. The APA was a part of strong group of teams working in WWE at the time which included the Hardy Boys, the Dudley Boys, Edge and Christian, and Too Cool.
Since his most recent retirement in 2009, Justin Bradshaw Layfield has kept busy for several successful bussiness ventures. He currently lives in Bermuda, where is working to develope a Rugby league for underprelidged kids. JBL is still busy being a talker, as he currently hosts a political talk podcast called the Layfield Report.
