Blake Shelton’s former “The Voice” contestant RaeLynn is working on an album. The 19 year old spitfire who climbed to the top 12 of season two shared the news with her Twitter followers today:
Guess who's recording some music on Monday for her 1st Record?
Viewers may remember RaeLynn as the Texas sweetheart who turned up the twang and the swagger with daring performances of Pistol Annies’ “Hell on Heels,” Jason Aldean’s “She’s Country,” and even much to opposing coach Adam Levine’s amusement, Maroon 5's “Wake Up Call.”
RaeLynn signed to Republic Nashville in 2012 and stated shortly thereafter that she was in the process of writing songs. Since “The Voice,” RaeLynn released one single entitled “Boyfriend,” a
song that played right into her sassy persona with lyrics about wanting another girl’s boyfriend.
With over 90,000 Twitter followers, RaeLynn is sure to have an audience for her album once it’s released. However, if recording is just beginning, RaeLynn’s fans may have to wait a bit longer.
Until then, replays of “Boyfriend” will have to do.
