Amy Hennig has revealed her next project after her high-profile departure from Naughty Dog. According to a report from Kotaku on April 4, the former creative director of the tentatively-titled “Uncharted 4” stated that she will be joining Visceral Games.
The studio is best known of the creation of the “Dead Space” series. Amy Hennig is going to be working on another intellectual property instead, however, as she has been given the role of creative director on a new “Star Wars” video game.
In several of her messages on Twitter, she stated that it is a “privilege to have the opportunity to contribute” to the universe as the multimedia franchise has heavily influenced her life. You can find a few screens from “Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception” with the slideshow gallery to the left side of this article as well as her comments about her new job below:
Very excited to share that I'm joining @VisceralGames as Creative Director on a new Star Wars project! It's a privilege to have the opportunity to contribute to the Star Wars universe, after it's had such a formative influence on my life.
Several projects based on the sci-fi franchise are currently in development at Electronic Arts. In addition to the aforesaid “Star Wars” title from Visceral Games, Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment is also working on the next installment of the “Star Wars Battlefront” series.
Despite providing a new update, Amy Hennig kept quiet in regards to what happened with the development of “Uncharted 4” at Naughty Dog. A report from IGN suggested that she was forced out by Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann.
Sony Computer Entertainment previously confirmed that the production of “Uncharted 4” is still on schedule although a release date window has not yet been announced.
