Former "Top Chef" competitor opens new restaurant in Toluca Lake

Chef Alex Eusebio, seen on season 5 of the Bravo series “Top Chef,” and his wife, singer/songwriter Sara Mann, recently opened their new restaurant, Sweetsalt, in Toluca Lake.

The restaurant offers a wide range of options from fresh artisanal sandwiches to build-your-own gourmet salads, with a variety of tasty treats to satisfy your sweet tooth at the end of your meal. As a humorous nod to his reality show experience, Chef Alex’s dessert menu features a “Pack Your Knives Crème Brulee” – a version of the very dish that garnered his elimination from the competition.

An added bonus: all of the sandwiches and salads on the menu at Sweetsalt are $10 or, in most cases, less!

To make the Sweetsalt experience all the more impressive, the owners have incorporated a gourmet marketplace in their new establishment, where guests can scoop up fine wines, cheeses, charcuterie, and gift baskets to their hearts’ content.

Sweetsalt is open Monday thru Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
