On Valentine’s Day, former tennis pro Jennifer Capriati was involved in an altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Ivan Brannan. Now an arrest warrant is being sought against Capriati in Florida for battery and stalking.
The North Palm Beach Police Department is seriously thinking about charging Capriati with battery and stalking. A police report from that night stated that the 36 year-old Tennis Hall of Famer hit her ex Ivan Brannan.
According to the police report, Capriati hit Brannan in the chest several times with her fist while at the Oxygen Health and Fitness gym on February 14. The report says that a yoga instructor witnessed them arguing outside the men’s locker room.
The yoga instructor stated she saw Capriati hit Brannan and, when they intervened, he ran into the locker room to call 911. Capriati fled from the scene but the arrest report states that police officers stopped her a few miles away.
The officer who pulled Jennifer Capriati over let her go forcing the Palm Beach County State Attorney has to decide whether or not to issue the warrant.
Ivan Brannan petitioned the court for a restraining order against Capriati last November. In his court papers, he alleged that Capriati called him at work more than 100 times in a day.
However, the judge presiding over the request for a restraining order denied Brannan’s request. Incidents between the two of them instigated two separate investigations to be launched.
This isn’t the first time Jennifer Capriati has been in trouble with the law. In 1994, she was arrested for shoplifting and possession of marijuana. In 2010, Jennifer was hospitalized after an accidental prescription drug overdose.
