Former Tech football player Nick Rogers, most famous for playing DE opposite Greg Gathers in 2000 and 2001, died following a single-car accident in College Park early Monday morning. He was 30.

Rogers redshirted in 2007 before playing on special teams in 2008. Rogers started from 1999-2001, earning second-team all-ACC honors in 2000 and 2001.

Rogers was a sixth-round draft pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2002, and played 4 seasons in the NFL with the Vikings, Packers, Colts and Dolphins.

His older brother, Phillip, was a running back at Tech from 1995-1999, and his sister Dana ran track for the Jackets.
