In late May, Brad Julius, 30 and Matthew Rogers, 29, teachers at Union R-XI School District were charged with drugging and sexually assaulting an intoxicated female victim, 37. The victim reported that she was unknowingly drugged and then lost control of her body and freewill. At which point the suspects raped the woman without her consent. Julius turned himself in to the police and later bonded out of the Fanklin County Jail. Rogers turned himself in at a later date.
Julius was the physical education teacher and Rogers a 6th grade teacher.
On Thursday, 3-October 2013, Julius was handed down a less than punitive sentence; 5-year suspended sentence, 5-years probation, 90-days in jail and must register as a sex offender. Rogers confessed and plead guilty to sexual assault in early August. He is scheduled to be sentenced on 16-October 2013.
