The New York Yankees announced their 2013 non-roster invites for Spring Training which added up to 44 total players with nearly all of them having spent time playing in the Florida State League with the Tampa Yankees.
The Yankees also recently signed 5 players to Minor League Contracts who will be included in the non-roster invites. These players are catcher Bobby Wilson, outfielders Juan Rivera, Matt Diaz and Thomas Neal and infielder Dan Johnson. Other recently signed players who are currently designated to Triple-A Scranton are Jim Miller, Juan Cedeno, Matt Daley, Gil Velasquez and Josh Spence. Infielder Jason Nix, who played with the New York Yankees in 2012 and played shortstop after Derek Jeter’s injury, has also been invited to Spring Training.
