Former stars desperate to live, desperate to survive

On Saturday photo's surfaced of former WWE and WCW star Virgil selling merchandise on a subway platform in New York. According to reports Virgil was trying to get $20 per autographed photo but was talked down to a paltry $5.

Virgil was noted for being the bodyguard for former WWE SuperStar "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase in the WWF/E for a number of years before going to WCW as part of the NWO Invasion as the "Head of Security" using the name Vincent, a rib on WWE CEO Vince McMahon.

For a number of years after leaving the WWE and WCW Virgil sustained himself working a number of independent dates until he finally retired from the ring. A former three time NCAA Wrestling Champion Virgil has "pissed his money away" according to friends and is now shilling whatever he can get his hands on to whatever fans are left who will pay.

Another former WWF/E and WCW SuperStar is struggling to stay alive after many years of drug and alcohol abuse has riddled his body. Scott Hall, who began his career for the AWA as Starship Coyote before moving on to the WWE as Razor Ramon and later WCW as Scott Hall in the NWO, has long battled addiction problems. The WWE has stood by Hall for years including sending him to rehab a reported 12 times with little resolve.

Hall has moved in with former WCW World Heavyweight Champion "Diamond" Dallas Page who has seemingly perfected a yoga program that has been widely featured in numerous outlets including Fox News. Page has taken Jake "The Snake" Roberts under his wing in recent months with much success. Roberts is said to be getting his mind and body right with the help of Page and the change has been nothing short of remarkable.

As for Hall the jury is out on whether or not Page will have the same effect on Hall especially after Page has reached his limit of involvement. Friends of Hall have indicated that only Hall can save himself from himself and he has yet to show that he is willing to do so. Getting with Page and asking for his help is a step in the right direction but with Hall having abused a variety of substances over the years his road to recovery, especially physically, will be especially difficult.

There are many who feel if Page is not able to help Hall and Hall is not willing or is unable to continue to follow the program after the initial intervention, Hall may be headed for his final ten count.
