Former soap actor brings his comedy to Michigan

Former ‘All My Children’ favorite Walt Willey (Jackson) will stop in Michigan later this month.

The actor and stand-up comedian will perform at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle in Royal Oak, Michigan on Sunday May 18.

After brief roles on ‘Another World’ and ‘Ryan’s Hope,’ the Illinois native joined the cast of ABC’s ‘All My Children’ in 1987. Willey created the role of Jackson Montgomery in 1987 and he quickly became a fan favorite. The talented actor stayed on the beloved soap until it went off the air in 2011.

Willey delved into the crazy world of stand-up comedy in the early 1990’s. The actor takes his comedy show on the road regularly. He cites Robin Williams and Richard Pryor as his comedic favorites.

In addition to his acting and comedy, Willey is known for his columns in ‘Soap Opera Weekly.’ He’s also hosted numerous charity and special events over the years.

More recently, Willey has taken his original one man show titled ‘Wild Bill! An Evening with James Butler Hickok’ to numerous cities.
