Warren Sapp, former defensive lineman of the Oakland Raiders, was named as part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s class of 2013.
It was reported in the Raiders official web page on Saturday that Sapp will be inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year.
The former defensive lineman for the Silver and Black will be joined by another six legends of Football, which are Larry Allen, Cris Carter, Curley Culp, Jonathan Ogden, Bill Parcells and Dave Robinson.
Sapp played with the Oakland Raiders for four seasons. However, his illustrious career was mostly done with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Tampa Bay, Sapp played for 13 seasons.
The ex-defensive lineman recorded 96.5 sacks in the years that he played in the NFL. He was All-Pro four times, voted to seven Pro=Bowls, and was part of two NFL All-Decade Teams.
According to the Raiders web page, the selection for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class 2013 was held in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Saturday, a day before the Super Bowl. The seven individuals were selected from a group of 17 finalists.
