On today December 5, 2013, the world has heard and acknowledged that former South African president and anti- apartheid Leader Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela has passed away at the age of 95 years old. Mandela will have a state funeral. This revolutionary went to prison for his people for 27 years and emerged and fought against apartheid in his country. His fought against white minority rule and segregation. Nelson Mandela was a devoted humanitarian that was recognized globally. He has made contributed to public health as well from being involved with the National institute of Health as he commenced the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in Johannesburg South Africa to building Universities and Academic hospital be flown at half-staff from Friday through that funeral.
His legacy shall prevail.
There are three organizations that are independent of one another but abide by a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2006. The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, revolves around the children's hospital mentioned and strives to protect and change how children and youth are treated in society. The Nelson Mandela Foundation deals with critical and social issues and provides public information on Nelsons Mandela’s life and The Mandela Rhodes Foundation identifies .future generations of excellent, ethical leaders in Africa.
There is a lot that can be said about the first black President of South Africa in 1994. He accomplished many great things and set the bar for future leaders and open up doors for those in the future. He will be truly missed globally and never shall he be forgotten.
