Former Pittsburgh Steeler Hines Ward to play zombie on 'The Walking Dead' (Photos)

Hines Ward is considered one of the greatest wide receivers to ever play in the NFL, and he certainly is a legend in Pittsburgh as a former member of the Steelers. Since retiring, he has become a studio analyst for NBC's "Football Night in America," but he wants a little more. Well, on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, the first picture of Ward made up as a zombie on "The Walking Dead" hit the world.

That's right, Hines Ward has jumped on board and become a zombie.

He has an old college teammate that has a few connections and is actually an actor on "The Walking Dead." Thanks to that hook-up, Ward was made into a zombie with full make-up and will appear in a future episode of AMC's hit series.

Ward won't have a huge role, but he will most likely make a prominent appearance on screen considering who he is. In "The Walking Dead," Ward will be a zombie extra and pics show that the team did an awesome job on him.

"Just being in makeup preparing me for my role was cool. I actually scared myself when I looked in the mirror for the first time after," Ward told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
