Former outstanding citizen of the year in court for using a belt on his tenant

The Dayton Daily News has reported that former outstanding citizen winner Ron Kronenberger appeared in court today with his attorney. Kronenberger is charged with physically assaulting his tenant over unpaid rent.

Although he plead not guilty, Kronenberger admitted to police that he struck his tenant on the bare buttocks with a belt for not paying $2,800 in past due rent.

It’s alleged that Kronenberger told his tenant that he would treat him like a child if he was going to act like one.

The tenant said he willingly dropped his pants and allowed Kronenberger to strike him because he feared his volatile landlord. Allegedly, the assault occurred in Kronenberger’s business office and left small marks on his buttocks.

He has been charged with a single assault charge.

Kronenberger is a local business owner, former chamber of commerce president and the 2006 Waynesville Citizen of the year.
