Sharper was released on $200,000 bail just before midnight on Friday, according to CBS News.

The former defensive back that played for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans’ Saints during his football career, will back in court to face those rape charges on Feb. 14.

The LAPD is reportedly investigating Sharper “in connection with two sexual assaults that occurred in October and earlier this month in the West Los Angeles area.”

Remi Braden, spokesperson for the New Orleans Police Department, announced on Saturday that her department is conducting its own investigation into an additional and unrelated rape allegation that was filed against Darren Sharper on Sept. 24.

Sharper retired from the gridiron following the 2010 season, after playing from 1997 – 2010 with the NFL, with most of those years playing with the Green Bay Packers.

Recently, Sharper has been employed by the NFL Network as an analyst.

"Darren has been suspended without pay until further notice, effective immediately," said Alex Riethmiller, spokesman for NFL Network, in an email Saturday.

Sharper attended Hermitage High School in Richmond, Va., played college football with the College of William and Mary, and was drafted in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft by Green Bay.
