CNN reported on March 1 that 38-year-old Darren Sharper, former NFL star defensive back and until recently, a sports analyst for the NFL Network has been fired by the NFL Network following new charges and a myriad of rape allegations in three different states.
His termination from the NFL Network came after an arrest warrant was issued following charges that he raped two women in New Orleans.
Sharper had already been suspended without pay, indefinitely, from his sports analyst duties back in Jan. following a separate arrest on drug charges.
Sharper turned himself into authorities in Los Angeles on Feb. 27 after being charged with drugging and then raping two women in Los Angeles.
MSN reported that Sharper has also been connected to five additional drug-related rapes in Ariz., Nev., and La.
Sharper is wanted in New Orleans in connection with the alleged rapes of two women.
Sharper, along with an alleged cohort, 26-year-old and Erik Nunez, are both looking at two counts of aggravated rape in New Orleans.
If convicted, the two men face a possible sentence of life in prison without parole.
Sharper was in court on Feb. 20 when has pleaded not guilty to the Calif. rape charges.
Regarding the charges in Arizona, Tempe police Sgt. Mike Pooley said, per Paul Vercammen and Saeed Ahmed of CNN, "We have nothing yet. We anticipate filing charges very shortly and we are still waiting on a couple of results from the crime lab." - The Bleacher Report
