According to a Jan. 11 report from US Weekly Magazine, former MMA star Gina Carano is dating Henry Cavill.
Carano had the hunky Cavill on her arm at the 18th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards in Santa Monica, Calif., Jan. 10.
The 30-year-old Carano, who was nominated for Best Actress in an Action Movie for her role in Hawyire, walked down the red carpet with Man of Steel's leading man, Cavill, 29.
Carano and Cavill stayed by each other's side throughout the evening.
Carano and Cavill have reportedly been spotted together several times in the past few months, and E! News reports that they have been dating since September, 2012.
Cavill recently split with Ellen Whitaker. "There was no fallout," Us Weekly said of the breakup. "They just both agreed it wasn't working. They broke up three months ago."
Carano is rumored to be making an appearance as Wonder Woman in Cavill's new film, Man of Steel. The movie hits theaters on June 14, 2013.
What does Carano's involvement with Cavill have to do with MMA?
Not much, except that it shows her dipping further into the world of Hollywood and acting.
The UFC recently opened a women's division featuring Ronda Rousey, and Carano hasn't officially retired from the sport.
"There are certain things that I always dreamed of, like fighting in the UFC," Carano said. "That was a big one I don't know. There's just certain things that I feel like haven't been accomplished there. There's such great women coming up in the sport; seems like a wonderful time to be in women's MMA. So I'm not sure."
Carano essentially hinted that she was putting her MMA career on the shelf until the opportunity opened for females to enter the UFC. Now that the UFC signed Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey, Carano may return to the MMA ranks. But don't it expect it to happen anytime soon.
