According to a June 18 report from Cageside Seats, all three former members of The Shield received new walkout songs and uniforms this week, which would seem to indicate that the group is officially broken up. Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, who were part of The Shield tag-team for over a year until their recent breakup, are now each expected to the singles stars in the WWE ranks.
Ambrose, 28, has a now look that is similar to a 1950s greaser, as he now competes in jeans and a white tank top. Ambrose was spotted in his new get-up during this week's episode of WWE Smackdown, and its expected that he'll continue to sport the look moving forward. Ambrose's new theme song is a chaotic hard rocker, not far removed from the tune he walked out to during his time in The Shield.
As for Rollins, he still sports an all-black look, similar to the attire he wore while a member of The Shield. During this week's WWE Smackdown, Rollins looked a bit like a character from a superhero movie, as he wore skin-tight leather and boots lined in silver. He walked out to a yet-to-be-named rock tune that featured a pounding drum beat, which worked well for his heel gimmick.
Reigns' new look wasn't far off from his time with The Shield. Reigns still walks through the crowd like he always did, and he still sports all-black gear. Of the three former members of The Shield, Reigns' new look is the least changed. He now walks out to a remix of The Shield's former theme song, "Special Op."
The new changes seem to confirm that The Shield will not go on as a two-man tag team. After Reigns and Ambrose teamed up with John Cena for a match against the Wyatt Family during a recent episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, some in WWE Universe speculated that the new Shield would feature the 37-year-old superstar. It now appears the three-man tag team of Reigns, Ambrose and Cena was a one-night only gig.
As most WWE fans know by now, The Shield broke up when Rollins cracked Reigns in the back with a steel chair a few weeks back on WWE Monday Night Raw. Rollins aligned himself with Evolution, while Ambrose and Reigns stuck together as a two-man tag team for a short time. It now appears that all three men will be WWE singles stars.
