While everybody is focusing on NBA All-Star weekend in New Orleans a few ex-NBA players are celebrating becoming finalist for the Hall of Fame class of 2014. The former commissioner, David Stern, has already cashed in his ticket to the hall but Mitch Richmond, Alonzo Mourning, Kevin Johnson, Spencer Haywood and former Maverick Tim Hardaway are hoping to make the cut. The full class will be unveiled on April 7th during the NCAA men’s Final Four. The former commissioner was enshrined by the contributors committee on Friday. He was commissioner for exactly 30 years before retiring 2 weeks ago. He will be honored with the rest of the 2014 class during the Hall of Fame ceremony on August 8th in Springfield, Mass.
