In the rural suburb community of Maple Valley, Wash., a car thief and his female cohort found out, in the worst way, how it ends when you try to steal the vehicle of a military man.
King County Sheriff’s deputies said a 27-year-old suspect and his accomplice were already driving a stolen Honda when they approached a former Marine’s pickup truck on S.E. 236th in Maple Valley early this morning, Sept. 24.
It was the suspect’s bad luck that the gun-packing homeowner came out to walk his dog at the same time the heist was about to go down. A gun battle ensued and the homeowner, along with his trusted companion, were the last ones standing.
Both the deceased suspect and his female companion had felony rap-sheets.
Two weapons were recovered at the scene; the 9 millimeter of the former Marine and a .45 caliber, allegedly belonging to the car-thief.
King County Sheriff’s deputies said there were no charges filed. No names have been released.
