His personal story will leave you speechless. Rogers grew up with a childhood full of neglect, abandonment and sexual abuse. As his mother battled demons of alcoholism, her boyfriend molested Sy when he was young.
His mother was killed in a drunk driving accident, and his life took a series of twists and turns, and as he describes it,
“I ended up in the only place that afforded me acceptance – homosexuality.”
He goes on to say, “And having been molested and having been exploited, having experimented, I wound up there and lived everything from the promiscuous gay lifestyle while in the Navy in Honolulu in the seventies to later becoming involved in a gay church where I was the best man at one of Hawaii’s first gay weddings in the late 1970s.”
Although Rogers was once involved in a deeply homosexual lifestyle, and even had planned on having a sex change, something miraculous happened in his life.
He was never the same.
Today Rogers is a world-renowned, international speaker, award winning talk show host, recording artist, and a leading voice regarding sexuality, cultural themes & God’s character.
Sy Rogers will be speaking Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Free Chapel Worship Center in Gainesville, GA 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
