A former Henderson County Deputy is now facing more charges while free on a $45,000 bond, WSPA7 reported January 23.

Daniel Lindsey, 27,was placed under arrest last Saturday just after midnight and charged with three felony counts of sex offense with a student he was signed to protect as a school resource officer at Balfour Education Center.

Lindsey was arrested at his residence in Mountain Home, North Carolina with a new list of charges. These include 14 misdemeanors for disseminating material harmful to minors and felony disseminating obscenity to a minor.

Lindsey is accused of sending text messages showing his penis to a student between October 11 and November 19. He's also allegedly sent a student a video on December 16 showing himself masturbating.

A newly passed law in North Carolina may keep Lindsey in jail for a long time. NCGS 15-!-534 (d) (3) has caused Lindsey's original bond of $45,000 to be doubled with each new charge, and is now at $1.35 million dollars. He's being held in the Transylvania County Detention Center, where he's expected to go before a judge early Friday morning.

Henderson County Sheriff Charles McDonald stated in a news conference last Saturday that no illegal activity is thought to have taken place on school property. The new charges were made after forensic investigation turned up the other crimes.
