Former Giles OC Thomas Osteen Hired as New Marshall County Head Football Coach

After a year at Buckhorn (AL) high school as Offensive Coordinator, Thomas Osteen is coming back to Tennessee to run his own program.

Osteen who was the Offensive Coordinator at Giles County as recent as 2012 has been named the new head football coach at Marshall County.

"We named Thomas Osteen this afternoon," Marshall County Athletic Director Kevin McGehee said.

Osteen replaces Aaron Pitts who resigned last month to spend more time with his family.

Pitts complied a 9-13 record but despite the losing record, The Tigers made the 4A playoffs both seasons.

The Tigers were 4-7 last season and were beat by Signal Mountain in first round of the 2013 playoffs.

Osteen was the Offensive Coordinator at Buckhorn under former Giles County coach David O'Connor last season as the Bucks went 6-5 and made the 6A playoffs.

Currently there are open jobs at Cascade, Mt. Pleasant, Dresden, Mt. Juliet Christian and Fairley as schools currently looking for a head coach.
