Irvine, CA - Daddy is a special dog...an ambassador for his breed with an exceptional personality. Daddy, like too many of his breed, had been used for dog-fighting before he was rescued, his body bears the scars of his past abuses.
Angel Parisa rescued Daddy from a shelter this past Spring. More than likely, the gentle dog was dumped there because he was not a dog with a fighter's heart.
In fact, Daddy tries to avoid confrontation at all costs. But Daddy's trip to the animal shelter, with the masses of other Pit Bulls, was nearly a death sentence.
Thankfully, Parisa learned about the beautiful dog and his plight to get out of the shelter, and she was able to pull him to safety. Daddy's body was scarred and thin and he had medical problems that required extensive veterinary intervention. Though the vet bills ran into the thousands, Parisa could not turn her back on the gentle dog, so she found a way to pay for his surgeries and multiple blood transfusions.
Just last week, Daddy again proved to Parisa that the saving of his life was worthwhile. Daddy and Parisa were taking a walk when the normally excellent walker, Daddy, began pulling Parisa down a side street.
His behavior was unexpected and unusual. Parisa was on the brink of frustration with the dog when she noticed a woman in distress.
The determined Pit Bull pulled Parisa to the distressed woman. The person had a heart condition and she was experiencing pain and on the brink of collapse when Parisa and Daddy reached her. Daddy immediately launched into investigative mode - sniffing the woman all over, trying to determine the source of her distress.
Parisa was able to assist the woman in getting her heart medication and sat with her until her cardiac spell had passed and the woman had stabilized. Parisa told the Dog News Examiner that she fully credits Daddy for saving this woman's life.
Parisa insists that, of her own accord, she would have never walked to the street where the woman was located, and that the woman would have collapsed without someone there to support her. If no one had been there to help with the heart medications, the worst could have occurred. Somehow the intuitive Pit Bull was able to sense the lady's distress and he was able to get his person where she needed to be at that moment.
Angel Parisa loves Daddy. He is obviously a very special dog and she wants to find him an incredibly special new home. Angel regularly rescues Pit Bulls, and she admits that they are all special, but Daddy has touched her life and her heart, in a unique way.
Perhaps it is his outstanding personality, or perhaps it has to do with the amount of time that she spent nursing him back to health....the hours that she spent lying on the floor, holding his head, when he was too weak to stand. Perhaps it is all of this. Regardless, his new home must be exceptional in order to win her stamp of approval.
A few stats about the amazing Pit Bull that needs a new home:
- Approx. 3 yrs of age
- Good health (all prior issues are now resolved)
- Good with other dogs
- Good with kids
- Well-behaved and calm
- Ambassador for his breed
If you feel that you might be able to provide Daddy with the home and life that he deserves, you can contact Angel Parisa at: angelparisa@yahoo.com, orangelparisasavesdogs@gmail.com
Angel prefers to adopt to an individual with breed experience and she will be conducting a home inspection and extensive interview. After you invest as much as she has in a dog, you only want the very best.
If you would like to help contribute to Daddy's veterinary expenses, which Angel Parisa is still paying off, you can donate at her Chip-In link. When Daddy first arrived to Angel, he nearly died on three separate occasions. His medical bills exceeded $5000.00. If Daddy had died, the woman on the street may have died last week. Things do happen for a reason.

Examiner Note: While this story is touching and beautiful, it is also heart-breaking. There are many dogs just like Daddy dying everyday in shelters across our nation. Their only crime is having been born Pit Bulls. These dogs did not choose to be the breed that they are. They are continually abused in manners that are unthinkable. Please do not judge the breed until you know the dog.

What a terrific story. I have cross posted it in hopes to find this beautiful boy a home.
I wish some of these judge shows could see this. They don't even consider that a pit bull could ever be a wonderful pet. Judge Joe Brown is the worst offender.
I think that we as humans are the problem, not the breed. They are amazing... and all breeds have an issue somewhere in their blood-line, for that matter. And yes Judge Joe Brown is racist about these dogs and needs to go visit Ceasar Milan. If I won the mega lottery I would spend nearly all of it on a crusade for their rights. God Bless those who volunteer for them all over the country.
That is a beautiful story.... I would like to twitter or facebook the story. I hope he finds a loving home and never has to fight again.
Ditto.
What a beautiful dog inside and out, hope he finds a good home that he deserves..,
Thank you so much for being a voice of reason! Pit bulls used to be called "nanny dogs" because of how wonderful they are with people. It's a shame that because of prejudice chiefly stirred up by the media, these dogs are sometimes killed in shelters simply for being of the breed.
What a lovely story, it's such a shame that because of some ignorant and horrid people that breed has got a bad name, I've always said "It isn't the breed to blame, it's how they're treated and owned" Daddy has proved it too, I hope Angel manages to find him a loving forever home, he deserves it bless him.
What a fateful day for the woman in distress! Yay Daddy!
Love it.
> Their only crime is having been born Pit Bulls. These dogs did not choose to be the breed that they are.
Who says being born a pit bull is a crime? That's like saying they're inherently evil or were born with a handicap. I'm quite sure that pit bulls are PROUD to be pit bulls. It's the humans that need the attitude shift.
just love it!!!!! Is always the owner!!!
Being born a Pit Bull would not be a bad thing if not for the man people across the U.S. that treat it as if it IS a crime. No more than Jews committed a crime during the Holocaust, yet they were persecuted as if it WERE a crime to have been born a Jew and they were killed because of it. Concentrate on the bigger picture here rather than zeroing in on semantics and trying to make it a bad thing
Love the story. Great looking dog. I hope he founds a worthy home:)
Daddy you are the pup. Lucky woman. The best dog for the job. My Pit Bulls save me everyday. They keep me grounded. Love em forever.
Great story , Angel your name really fits you for taking in dogs like Daddy and helping them heal and giving them love that they probably never got from their past heartless thug owners.
Love the story!! : ) I have 2 Pitbulls of my own and I love them to death! I always say that the wrong end of the leash always gets blamed. Blame the owner, not the dog!
A big thanks to you all for your kind words!!! Please follow Daddy's journey on Facebook (Angel Parisa) and help me find this special boy a wonderfull 'furever' home!!! And at the risk of sounding too forward please share his chipin link for I am over 2K balance of Daddy's considerable vet bills. 2 emergency surgeries, 3 blood transfusion and countless tests and meds. Donations can be called straight into Mesa West Pet Hospital at 949-642-9142 and I can not post his chipin link here but it is on my profile in FB. I hope you don't think me too forward for if I could do it all by myself, I swear to you that I would. Thank you again <3
I WISH HIM THE BEST OF LUCK! If I could adopt him, trust me I would! He sounds like a big lovebug!
Lucky dog! Angel you are an angel!
One question: How is Daddy with cats?
When I go to see poor Daddy tomorrow (being boarded at the vet) I'll see what I can do about cat testing him and I will get back to you. Also, if you're on FB add me and then you'll see daily updates on Daddy the Hero as well as my other 3 rescued babies!
There are many instances where a dog, cat, even a hamster, have saved the lives of their family by warning the human residence of fire or carbon dioxide poisoning. Our pets do this because they have bigger, more generous, more forgiving hearts than we have. I mean, if you were slapped on the nose with a newspaper a half dozen times for peeing on the carpet...would you bravely jump back into a burning building to bring out the person that slapped your nose...without at least thinking twice about it first?
Daddy is one of these generous dogs that apparently knows and lives the teachings of Jesus and the apostles. Just as dogs for the blind and dogs for the wheelchair bound just KNOW the right thing to do to give their charge a better life! Daddy could go a long way in helping people like that...as he could sense a woman with a heart problem in distress! WHAT A GOOD DOG!
Thank you for this article and your comments that follow. My girl Coco (pitt-mix) and I love positive news about the breed. I will be reading and sharing your articles from now on regardless of the topic.
Really great and moving...I was walking a pittie once and she was dragging me down the street...I gave in and went and there was a woman lying on the ground, collapsed. We waited until the paramedics came. I'll never forget that...Gizmo was so concerned for this woman, it was touching. Anyway, great work Daddy, you're special home is coming! And bravo Angel!!!
This is an amazing story. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I am so glad to see people helping dogs REGARDLESS of the breed! I am grateful Daddy was given a chance to live the life he deserves. This story just goes to show that ALL dogs are special and have gifts to give. Keep up the good work and I will be more than happy to spread the word about Daddy in search of his forever home!
>> Please do not judge the breed until you know the dog.
Most people are not experienced dog handlers and they should not have this type of dog.
When little Timmy is trying to walk it and it sees some small animal and it's prey aggression kicks in, little Timmy will not be able to stop it. Nor will any neighbors who punch the dog, kick it, hit it, stab it, tazer it, pepper spray it, or even shoot it.
When you buy some puny cable for the dog and it snaps it b/c it's so strong and then goes on a rampage, what will you say? How do you apologize for it shredding their pet on their front porch? Or biting someone?
When your dog causes $100,000 in medical bills, how will you pay for them? Most people don't voluntarily purchase liability insurance for their pits.
No, they're not all bad dogs. But the likelihood that something will happen with this type of dog is much higher than if a family goes and adopts some great pyrenees mix or a sheltie mix. You need to tell people that these can be good dogs, but that they need to prepare themselves for the EXTRA RESPONSIBILITY that comes with adopting one of these dogs.
what a terrific story, Cheers to all dogs.
Daddy should be the cardiac woman's service dog!!!!
HE is a great dog and the lady could sure use a dog like Daddy. such a heartwarming story.
Great story. Hope you do come and read some of mine. Thank you!
