The New England Patriots have signed former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Mike Kafka.
Kakfa has signed a reserve/future contract for the 2013 season. He did not play this season.
They worked him out in September after the Eagles released in in the final cuts before the season started. The cannot officially join the roster until the Patriots season ends.
The Patriots currently have a bye this week. And they will return to action next week, as they face the Houston Texans. The Patriots already beat the Texas on Monday Night Football several weeks ago.
He is expected to join the mix that backs up Tom Brady. He is expected to battle backup quarterback Ryan Mallett for a job.
In 2011, he played in four games for the Eagles. He was 11-for-16 for a 107 yards and two interceptions.
He played college football at Northwestern.
