According to, “Selfie” centers on Eliza (played by Gillan), a twentysomething woman who is “more concerned with 'likes' than being liked.” However, when a video capturing her bad breakup goes viral, “she realizes that social media notoriety isn't so great if you're famous for the wrong reasons” and enlists a marketing expert to help rebuild her image.

The Scottish actress--who will be using an American accent on "Selfie"--is best known for her role as Amy Pond on “Doctor Who.” She was introduced as the doctor’s newest companion on the very popular British science fiction series in 2010. She joined the show at the beginning of the fifth series, which is when Steven Moffat took over as showrunner and The Eleventh Doctor (played by the wonderful Matt Smith) started his run.

She then played The Doctor’s companion throughout the entirety of the fifth and sixth series and stayed on for the first five episodes of the seventh. She made her last appearance on the show in Matt Smith’s final episode, “The Time of the Doctor,” which aired this past Christmas.
