Former Senate President John Morse and former Senator Angela Giron appeared on MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes” on Tuesday night, likely reassuring the Coloradans that they made the right decision in recalling the pair during the historic Colorado recall elections last week.
Both political hacks reaffirmed their commitment to "gun safety" in the wake of the horrific Washington Navy Yard mass killing yesterday, politicizing the event to further their anti Second Amendment agenda while America was mourning over the senseless loss of twelve innocent citizens.
John Morse said,
"As leaders, we need to stand up and realize that this is something we can prevent."
The funny thing is that he is no longer a "leader," as he has proven himself to steamroll over the will of his constituents and was recalled for doing just that.
Angela Giron ranted about the NRA, saying "people are dying because of greed and their continuing to convince people that more guns equals safety." Giron inadvertently boosted the NRA's argument that "the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun," by saying,
"And in this case in particular, we can look at, it was a Navy Yard. You couldn’t have any more armed people than in that case right there."
In fact, the incomparable Matt Vespa of CNS News confirmed that military establishments are "gun-free zones."
Giron recently attempted to make the silly case, along with Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, that the reason she lost in the Colorado recall elections was due to "voter suppression," as previously reported by the Examiner.
Even the left-leaning Denver Post did not stand by Giron on that one. The editorial said in part,
"People who supported her 'weren't able' to get to the polls? Nonsense. They were no less able to get to the polls than folks on the other side."
John Morse was asked by host Chris Hayes whether he believes that the "gun lobby" or the "constituents" were to blame for his ousting. Morse laughably replied,
"...It's one hundred percent the gun lobby. They bought the signatures to force the election in the first place. They sent flyers before the signatures were gathered...they did all kinds of misinformation very deliberately...I don't think it was the gun owners in my district. It was more the NRA and they whipped up a frenzy like they always do."
Chris Hayes lamented, "What is the solution to beating the NRA? To beating the gun lobby?" Giron replied that "we need to keep exposing the NRA for what it is..."
A father of one of the Marines who was at the Navy Yard during the mass killing confirmed that if those soldiers who were trained to use their weapons had been allowed to access their ammunition, it is very likely that less people would have been senselessly slaughtered.
