According to a report from VG 24/7 today, former Cityville general manager Alan Patmore settled with Zynga after admitting he stole confidential information from the company and distributed it to his current employer, Kixeye.
The lawsuit, filed by Zynga last fall, alleged that Patmore stored roughly 760 documents from his work computer in Dropbox during his last day of work with the company, Tech Crunch reported last October.
The files contained information about unreleased titles, future monetization plans and employee salary information.
Though the terms of the settlement were not disclosed, Patmore seemed to fess up to the crime in a statement.
“I accept responsibility for making a serious mistake by copying and taking Zynga confidential information when I resigned from Zynga. I understand the consequences of my actions and I sincerely apologize to Zynga and my former colleagues,” Patmore said.
Kixeye had come to the defense of Patmore during the lawsuit, saying it was just a way for Zynga to obtain access to the company’s corporate secrets.
