Mother and daughter directors, Lori Joyce and Candice Orlando, former Boise filmmakers, come together to create Arise http://www.arisethemovie.com which captures the portraits and stories of amazing women around the world who are coming together to heal the injustices against the earth.

The film weaves together poetry, music by Elephant Revival, Michael Franti, Lil Sum’n Sum’n, and Ietef, art and stunning scenery to create a hopeful and collective story that inspires us to work for the earth.

The film features interviews with 14 women throughout the world including Judy Kimamo with Wangari Maathai's Green Belt Movement, Maggie Fox, Winona LaDuke, Majora Carter, Vandana Shiva, Starhawk and many other amazing women.
“It is such an amazing time to bring these inspirational stories to the screen. We have received comments from people after watching Arise, that they are empowered to go back to their communities and find ways to create change and inspire other people to do the same and THAT was our hope for making this film,” explains Lori Joyce the Emmy Nominated film director.
“This is an amazingly inspiring and empowering film for all people everywhere. And especially for women who want to help the earth, all species on it and the children of the planet. I absolutely LOVE it!” Catherine Molland, Artist, Santa Fe, NM.
