Bishop Manogue High School graduate Ryan Baker pitched the final three innings of a no-hitter for the Community College of Southern Nevada Coyotes on Saturday.
Baker pitched three hitless innings in a 4-0 victory over Colorado Northwestern Community College of Rangely, Colo., at CSN.
Baker walked just one and fanned three in relief of starter Sam Wolff. Wolff earned the victory to improve to 6-4 on the year with four hitless innings and seven strikeouts.
Baker, a freshman for the Coyotes, earned his second save of the season with his performance against Colorado Northwestern. The 6-foot-1 right-hander is now 1-2 this season with a 6.26 earned run average in 14 appearances.
Baker has allowed 27 hits in 23 innings with 18 strikeouts and 10 walks.
The Coyotes are 27-25 this season.
CSN also features one other former northern Nevada high school player in third basemnan Ray Daniels, a Damonte Ranch High School graduate.
Daniels is hitting .183 this year in 29 games. He has made 23 starts at third base with 11 hits in 60 at-bats.
Daniels has a solid .355 on base percentage with 12 walks. He has a double, two triple, a home run, 13 runs scored and 13 RBI with six stolen bases and five sacrifice bunts.
He has one four-RBI games, one three-RBI game and a pair of two-hit games this season. Against Colorado Northwestern on March 26 in Rangely, Colo, he walked four times, including twice with the bases loaded in a 15-1 victory.
Daniels, a sophomore, was 0-for-8 in eight games at CSN as a freshman.
