Are you watching the Super Bowl or Puppy Bowl today? You can watch both, as Animal Planet’s “Puppy Bowl IX” airs at 3 pm. E/P today, February 3, 2013. This is plenty of time to get ready for Super Bowl later in the day.
As reported in North Jersey.com, four formerly stray Bergen County, New Jersey, puppies will star in the show.
Once residents of the Bergen County Animal Shelter, pups named Cruz, Prince, Eli and Tuck were all selected to participate in this year's game. Tuck and Eli made the game's starting lineup. All are German Shepherds and Pit Bull mixes. All four stars have since been adopted.
Get ready for plenty of entertainment today. Kittens will provide the halftime show with hedgehog cheerleaders on the sidelines. There will even be Twitter action, so plan to follow @MeepTheBird.
Every year Animal Planet uses rescue animals in the production of the show and Petfinder.com casts the Puppy Bowl participants. This is a great way to raise awareness about all the wonderful pets just waiting for their forever homes in shelters across the country.
The Bergen County Animal Shelter is located at 100 United Lane, Teterboro, NJ 07608 Telephone: 201-229-4600
You can find a variety of pets at the shelter at any given time from dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs and other pocket pets. Visit their available pets online here. You might just find the pet of your dreams. Who knows? You just might choose a puppy who becomes next year’s Puppy Bowl star.
