Shayne Lamas-Richie was hospitalized for complications with her pregnancy on Sunday evening. On Feb. 10, the New York Daily News reports that Lamas had suffered a miscarriage.

On Monday Shayne's famous father Lorenzo Lamas told People magazine, "We are so grateful that my daughter, Shayne Lamas-Richie, is conscious and stable. She is not in a coma, however she did miscarry the child she was carrying,"

Lamas-Richie already has a 2-year old daughter named Press with husband Nik Richie. The couple were expecting their second child together. It is unclear what caused the complications in her pregnancy and the very sad outcome but Shayne is expected to recover.

Shayne was 16-weeks pregnant at the time of the miscarriage. Doctors were forced to perform emergency surgery and could not save the baby. It was reported that Lamas-Richie was briefly comatose but according to her father, she is awake and alert now.

As her husband, Nik Richie wrote, "Unfortunately, bad things happen to good people." That is the truth. Best wishes for a swift recovery for Shayne Lamas-Richie.
