Josh Melton was an Arkansas Razorback football player from 1999 to 2002. He now faces 2nd degree murder charges, and is said to show deep remorse for what seems to have been an unintentional altercation.
The Fayettville Flyer reports that according to police reports, Josh Melton and Michael Gover had gone out drinking the night before, and when they returned to Melton’s home, Gover threw up in the living room, and an argument between the men took place.
The former Arkansas Razorback football player punched Gover several times, not realizing the extent of the injuries he had inflicted. After Michael Gover was punched, he fell to the floor. Melton left him there and went to sleep, only to wake up and find Gover already dead. Melton was released yesterday from the Washington County Detention Center on bond for 2nd degree murder charges.
