Genoa Baptist Church, in Westerville, Ohio, is sponsoring and hosting the God Bless America Rally, featuring former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.
Genoa expects this free event to draw more than 5,000 people to honor U.S. military heroes and listen to an inspiring message by former governor and FOX weekend HUCKABEE host, Mike Huckabee.
Three days a week on The Huckabee Report, ABC Radio Network listeners are educated and entertained as Huckabee discusses issues that strike at the heart of Americans. A couple of his more notable quips are,
"I know I’m expected to give intelligent commentary on the daily actions of Congress, but some days, I think it might be more appropriate just to laugh out loud for three minutes straight."
"The health care reform bill before the House puts impenetrable insurance regulations on employers, and if they fail to comply, they could face a $500,000 penalty enforced by the IRS. Maybe that’s the free colonoscopy Obama promised."
Huckabee is a prolific writer with seven published books. His latest work is A Simple Christmas, which was highlighted for several weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list.
In 2008, after serving 12 years as the 44th Governor of Arkansas, he campaigned for the Republican Presidential nomination, losing out to John McCain.
Prior to his political career, Huckabee was the president of the Arkansas Southern Baptist State Convention and a pastor.
In his spare time, Huckabee plays the bass guitar in his rock-n-roll band, Capitol Offense and with the FOX house band "The Little Rockers."
Join Pastor Frank Carl as he welcomes Mike Huckabee, and former Congressman Bob McEwen, at the God Bless America Rally at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010, where God and the U.S. military will be celebrated. The Speer Family and the Genoa Celebration Choir will provide uplifting musical entertainment. Pre-program activities begin at 5:45, so plan to arrive early.
